Becoming Belhaven

Belhaven Hill School 2023

Beatrice, Arthur, Charlie and Sally are hiding. It’s Thursday and they don’t want to run.

Beatrice is grappling with her own issues: Common Entrance stress, friendship worries and a struggle to be her own person. Arthur is fed up with being judged for not being sporty, he is trying to find his tribe, but he can’t quite find them.  Sally is frustrated, she loves Games, but doesn’t seem able to keep up with her schoolwork. Charlie is popular and seems to have the world at his feet, but is it all as it seems?

As these four Belhaven students battle it out to hide from the run, we realise, that they are maybe running from something bigger- their own fears.

A fear of failure, a fear of not fitting in, a fear of rejection.

Join Beatrice, Arthur, Charlie and Sally on their journey of discovery, a hidden diary and a dance in the past with those who walked before them. Can they learn anything from the students who tore through the corridors and fields one hundred years prior?

As we celebrate one hundred years of Belhaven, let us connect the past with the present and move this school forward with its ambitions and aims intact.
